Was Not Was

A love, that once burned brightly,  like the brightest of stars

Now a void, a black hole in a starless midnight sky.

A passion, not unlike a raging fire.
Now like embers dying in the cold dampness of a winter day.

Too many grains of sand have passed through the hour glass of time.
Too many pages have turned on the manuscript that is our lives.

Hearts once joined by the  naivete of youth now hardened by the realities of
life lessons learned.

To love like that again,
To be able to say what once was can still be.

But alas,
what once was
no longer is
and what is,
is no longer
what was.

Good Morning Family, may the memories of what once was sustain you and the hope of what can be see you thru the day.

Peace,

A child of the 60's I often feel out of place in the world as it exist today. Too much excess, too much materialism, too few people who genuinely care or give a damn. It is only with the heart that one can see rightly; what is essential is invisible to the eye. Antoine de Saint-Exupery

Your ever free flowing words are like that of a serene, meandering river doubtless of its destination for the opened vastness of the ocean.  Peace, Love & Together

    Love can be rekindled,
    Touch renewed,
    Fire re-ignited
Passions unearthed from its jaded place
    To shine again
What once was, can be again
    Where there is love,
    There is hope.
    Remove the clutter
    Discard the shame
    Eradicate the blame
    Forgive,
Surrender clothed in your perfect imperfectness
Sit at the table of integrity
Vulnerable, naked, mind and heart free of resentments
    And love again
    Where there is love
    There is hope
Love again and make what was, is

And my only wish, Sister Sageview, is where ever they end – they enlighten. Thanks for visiting and for your kind remarks.

This reaches right in and speaks to me. I know this. I live this. I am searching for the warmth once again. I hope I succeed this time. I really loved this poem. Thanks for sharing.
